Last updated: 28 August 2026
Welcome to YardBoard. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using YardBoard and the responsibilities that come with having an account.
By creating an account or using YardBoard, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. You should also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal information.
1. About YardBoard
YardBoard is a digital platform designed to help equestrian yards and their communities communicate, organise and share information in one place.
Features may include yard communities, posts, messaging, notices, calendars, facility bookings, horse profiles, activity records, recommendations and notifications.
YardBoard provides the digital platform only. We do not own, operate, manage or control the physical yards, horses, facilities, service providers or activities discussed or organised through YardBoard.
2. Who Can Use YardBoard
You must be 16 years of age or older to create an account or use YardBoard.
By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and that the information you provide is accurate.
You must not impersonate another person, create an account using deliberately false information or access another person’s account without permission.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity carried out through your account where reasonably within your control.
If you believe somebody has gained unauthorised access to your account, please contact us as soon as possible.
You can request deletion of your YardBoard account using the account deletion option provided by YardBoard.

You agree not to misuse YardBoard, interfere with its operation or security, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or use the platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
5. Posts, Messages and Other Content
You retain ownership of the content you create and share through YardBoard, including posts, messages, photographs, horse information and recommendations.
By adding content to YardBoard, you give us permission to host, store, process and display that content where necessary to operate YardBoard and provide its features.
You are responsible for the content you share and must have the right to share it.
You must not use YardBoard to post, upload, send or share content that:
Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing or defamatory
Bullies, intimidates or deliberately targets another person
Promotes discrimination, hatred or violence
Is sexually explicit or seriously inappropriate
Encourages illegal or dangerous activity
Is fraudulent or deliberately misleading
Infringes another person’s copyright, intellectual property or other rights

Please treat other YardBoard users respectfully, even where you disagree.
6. Reporting, Blocking and Moderation
If you believe that content or another user’s behaviour breaches these Terms, you can report it using the reporting tools available within YardBoard.
Where available, you can also block another user.
We may review reported content or accounts and take action where appropriate. This may include removing content, restricting access to features, issuing warnings, suspending accounts or permanently removing accounts.
We may also take action without receiving a report where we become aware of serious misuse of YardBoard.
We cannot review every post or message before it appears and cannot guarantee that all information shared by other users will be accurate or appropriate.
7. Yard Communities
Yard communities on YardBoard are created and managed by users.
Unless we specifically tell you otherwise, YardBoard does not verify that someone creating or administering a YardBoard community owns, manages or is authorised to represent the corresponding physical yard.
Yard administrators may have additional permissions within their YardBoard community, but they are not employees or representatives of YardBoard simply because they hold an administrator role.
YardBoard is not responsible for disagreements or disputes between yard owners, managers, employees, liveries, horse owners, riders or other users.
8. Horse Profiles and Activity Information
Horse profiles, care information, activity records, reminders and other horse-related information are created and maintained by YardBoard users.
YardBoard does not verify this information and it is provided for communication and coordination purposes only.
Information within YardBoard is not veterinary, medical, behavioural, nutritional or other professional advice and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information where the health, safety or welfare of a horse is concerned.
You remain responsible for horses in your care and for obtaining appropriate professional advice when needed.
If a horse requires urgent veterinary attention, contact a veterinary professional rather than relying on YardBoard.
9. Facilities, Events and Activities
YardBoard may allow users to organise or coordinate facility bookings, events and other activities.
YardBoard provides the digital tools to help users coordinate these arrangements. We do not control the physical facilities or activities and cannot guarantee their availability, condition, suitability or safety.
Users remain responsible for following the rules of their yard and taking appropriate safety precautions.
10. Recommendations and Service Providers
Users may share recommendations for equestrian professionals, businesses and other service providers.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, a recommendation appearing on YardBoard is user-generated and does not mean that YardBoard endorses, verifies or guarantees that provider.
You are responsible for deciding whether a provider is appropriate for you or your horse, including checking relevant qualifications, insurance or credentials where appropriate.
Any services you arrange are between you and the relevant provider.
11. Notifications and Reminders
YardBoard may send notifications and reminders relating to messages, yard activity, posts, bookings, events, horses and other features.
You can manage available notification permissions through YardBoard and your device settings.
We cannot guarantee that a notification or reminder will always be delivered or received at a particular time. YardBoard should therefore not be used as the sole method of communicating urgent or safety-critical information.
12. Your Privacy
Your privacy is important to us.
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information YardBoard collects, why we collect it, how it is used and stored, who it may be shared with and the rights available to you.
Please read the Privacy Policy before creating your account.
13. Availability and Changes to YardBoard
We aim to keep YardBoard available and working reliably, but we cannot guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may update, improve, add, change or remove features from time to time, including where necessary for security, maintenance, legal or operational reasons.
14. Real-World Responsibility
YardBoard is a communication and organisation platform. It does not supervise or control physical yards, horses, facilities, equipment or activities undertaken by users.
You remain responsible for your own decisions, conduct, animals and real-world activities.
Nothing on YardBoard replaces appropriate professional advice, proper supervision, yard procedures or reasonable safety precautions.
15. Our Responsibility to You
We take reasonable steps to operate and maintain YardBoard, but information provided by other users may not always be accurate, complete or up to date.
We are not responsible for the actions or omissions of other users, yards or third-party service providers.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or that result from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
16. Suspending or Closing Accounts
We may remove content or restrict, suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe:
These Terms have been seriously or repeatedly breached
YardBoard is being used unlawfully or fraudulently
A user is harassing, threatening or endangering others
A user’s behaviour creates a significant risk to other users, animals or YardBoard
It is necessary to protect the security or integrity of the platform
We are legally required to do so
Where appropriate, we may give you notice or an opportunity to resolve an issue before taking action.
You can stop using YardBoard at any time and can request deletion of your account.
When an account is deleted, associated personal data will be deleted or anonymised as appropriate, except where we have a legitimate or legal reason to retain certain information. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
17. Intellectual Property
YardBoard, including its branding, design, software and other materials created by us, belongs to YardBoard or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may use YardBoard for your own personal use but must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the platform without our permission, except where applicable law expressly allows it.
Nothing in this section affects your ownership of content you create and upload to YardBoard.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as YardBoard develops or where legal or regulatory requirements change.
If we make a significant change that affects your rights or how you use YardBoard, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
Continuing to use YardBoard after updated Terms take effect means you agree to the updated Terms, where permitted by law.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live elsewhere, you may also have rights under mandatory consumer laws in the country where you live. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
